Form and Construction

The Ratel was conceived as a single, cohesive whole — from the blade geometry to the proportions of the handle and sheath. Every element serves a specific function while remaining part of one form, refined over years.

N690 Steel

Blade

The Ratel is forged from Böhler N690 steel, hardened to 59 HRC — chosen for its high resistance to corrosion and wear, and its ability to hold a sharp edge over the long term.

A hollow grind gives the blade a thin edge geometry, so the Ratel cuts light and clean, with precision. Satin and polished surfaces highlight the blade's line and the character of the hand finish.

Desert Ironwood

Handle

Desert ironwood is one of the densest, most durable woods used in knife handles. Harvested from trees growing in the Sonoran Desert, it's prized for its natural resistance to moisture and its striking, one-of-a-kind grain, ranging from golden browns to near-black streaks.

In the Ratel, we value it for more than looks. The wood's density and weight help achieve the knife's proper balance, and its natural structure creates a durable handle that sits confidently in the hand.

Skóra naturalna​

Dopasowana do konkretnego noża pochwa powstaje z impregnowanej skóry bydlęcej. Jej zadaniem jest chronić ostrze i pewnie utrzymywać Ratla podczas przenoszenia, ale również być godnym domem dla noża.

Każdy element jest ręcznie wycinany i szyty szwem siodlarskim, a krawędzie starannie wykańczane. Dzięki temu pochwa nie jest jedynie dodatkiem, lecz integralną częścią całego projektu.
